Liposuction | Technique, and protocol
Liposuction, also known as Lipoaspiration, is the surgical technique by which fat cells are removed from the skin through an instrument called a cannula (hollow stainless steel tube), which is attached to a high suction or vacuum machine power.
This machine removes and absorbs the fat through the cannula by removing it from the body.
There are several ways to perform a Lipo, either with local or general anesthesia.
The selection of one type or another of anesthesia depends on the patient and the amount of fat to be extracted.
Laser Lipo

LIPOSUCTION | RECOVERY AND POSTOPERATIVE CARE
The medical staff will ensure that you provide all the necessary advice and recommendations for a speedy recovery. Drains are usually removed seven days after surgery, always depending on how the patient reacts.
It is important to remember that postoperative care is a very important step in the success of a procedure such as Liposuction. The patient will receive follow-up to check their development and health status after Lipo.
The first appointment will take place twenty-four hours after surgery. After seven days the patient will be examined by the medical staff and the drains will be checked. At fourteen and twenty-one days after surgery, the patient will also have a follow-up appointment.
After a month, the doctor will assess the patient’s discharge. Normal activities may be resumed approximately ten days after Liposuction provided that medical personnel do not recommend otherwise.

What happens if I get pregnant after liposuction?
Pregnancy does not permanently alter the results of liposuction. If a woman performs liposuction and subsequently becomes pregnant, she will gain weight normally according to the different stages of pregnancy, give birth and then, when she loses the excess weight of pregnancy, the improvements in her liposuction will be visible again in her body, as if she had never been pregnant.
How does liposuction affect the skin? Does it produce visible scars?
